Ubisoft’s popular game series Assassin’s Creed’s 2015 release, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, is currently available for free download on PC via the Ubisoft Store. Set in 19th-century London and featuring two main characters, this adventure will remain free until December 6, 2023.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate tells the story of a secret war: This centuries-old battle pits the Assassins, who fight for freedom and peace, against the Templars, who seek peace through control. The main story is set in London in 1868, at the beginning of the Second Industrial Revolution, and follows twin Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they combat organized crime.
Played from a third-person perspective, the game offers a vast area for exploration thanks to its open-world design. Players can switch between the two characters throughout the main story. The game also features downloadable content (DLC) like Jack the Ripper.
While Jacob specializes in close combat, Evie relies more on stealth and intelligence. The game’s combat system focuses on quick attack and block combinations. It also features an advanced stealth system and new navigation systems.
The game’s side missions reflect the power struggle in London and are consistent with the main story. Throughout the game, the Frye twins form a street gang named Rooks to limit the influence of the Blighters. During the game, players also encounter various historical figures.
